Casus Belli In The Aegean

In general, Turkish-Greek relations which attract attention with their unstability resulted from a complicated communication network. This network, which has been involved with basic notions such as history, politics, and geography, have sometimes been tensed up and sometimes been improved considerably. In reality, in the Aegean, it is considered that there are many basic subjects for " casus belli", usually used in the field of international relations or as it is called in English "reason for war". If that's so, then will the casus belli be in the Aegean in the future? Will the casus belli turn out to be a belli or a war in the following years? Or has a belli (war) already existed in this region? And if there has been a war, how has it been carried on up to date?

In this study, the approach of public opinion in Greece towards these existing issues and very important persons such as Bulent Ecevit, Sukru Sina Gurel, Ismail Cem, Onur Oymen and Tuncer Kilinc who were in the focal point of these relations and their opinions which have not been published or mentioned in anywhere yet, are included. We will be very pleased to present our book, published this week in Turkey, respectfully to you.

He was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1973. He had his primary and secondary education in Bursa . He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Journalism. In 1993, firstly he started to work for the Olay in Bursa . In the following years, after 1999, he worked in several positions in the Flash TV and the CNN Turk. Hakan Cem Işıklar worked the last 3 lears on ART (Avrasya TV) as News Direktor, He is married and has got a child.

Casus Belli In The Aegean and Its Reflections

The book “Casus Belli In The Aegean” was written by Hakan Cem Isiklar and edited by Mete Belovacikli, and published by Umit Publishing a week ago. In addition to many technical details, there are also many important interviews which have never been published before. Some of these interviews are noted below.

We reminded the problems in theAegean to Turkey.

Relations with Greece could not be overcomed being in “Sirtaki” style.

Turkey’s rights have not been more important than the relations with Greece and the Europe.

Cyprus Island is very important for us even if no Turks live in there.

Greece tried to realize the Sevr Treaty in the Aegean disputes.

Western Countries always supported Greece.

Pangalos: “I am confessing that we created the Kardak Problem.”

Turkish Foreign Ministry learned that NOTAM 714 was abolished from radio in 1980.

If we give Kardak to Greece, in stormy days we can’t pass our navy from there.

Greece can do nothing to Turkey in military subjects.

We can take back all of the Aegean Islands whenever we want.

Turkish Aegean Army is going to be in that region until Greece give up to extend its territorial waters to 12 nm.

Western countries want to destroy Ataturk and Kemalism in Turkey.

There has been counterrevolution in Turkey since 50 years.

I dont think that the solution is very difficult in the Aegean disputes. Solution is political there.

We ruined Greece in Ocalan Problem.

Greece government dismissed some of the ministers for the new vision of Greece in 1999.

In our period, Turkish Army never interfered in Turkish Foreign Policy.

Greece church is source of historical antagonism against Turkey.

“Casus Belli in the Aegean” which reveals the realities about this issue, will often become a current issue in the following days, has some maps about the Aegean disputes in Turkish-Greek relations. This book which studies on the approach of the media in Greece towards the Aegean issues, also has plenty of charts.
